Central Washington University Samuelson Communication and Technology Center

While at YGH Architecture, Jonathan was Project Designer and Miles was Project Architect of this 130,000 sf project in the heart of CWU’s campus. Developed in collaboration with Architect of Record Schreiber Starling & Lane, the SCTC includes both adaptive reuse of the vacated Student Union Building and the construction of a significant new addition. Envisioned as a vibrant, dynamic facility united by communication and the use of technology, the project creates a technologically-rich learning environment that provides instructional, social, and support spaces for the entire campus community. Centered on a light-filled atrium space, the building will house the Communications Department, the Office of Online Learning, the University Relations office, and the University Information Technology Services Department, which includes a Tier level III reliability data center.
